From Concept to Sketch /  by Jeremy Wong

Flintshire Architects Hand drawn conceptual sketch residential house entrance porch

Making an Entrance!

These hand drawn sketches explore early conceptual options for reorientating the entrance to a new residential project.

The canopy and porch not only offers protection from the elements, but also reframes the property's façade, adding character and a distinct sense of arrival.

We look forward to sharing more updates as the project evolves!

New PMO project featured in Ideal Home magazine! /  by Jeremy Wong

We are thrilled to see one of our latest projects featured in Ideal Home magazine! Check out this month's (April) issue featuring a beautifully crafted kitchen by Pluck. The design takes centre stage within the new kitchen extension showcasing Pluck’s signature clean lines and vibrant palettes.

The overall project involved the reordering and refurbishment of a large home in the North Wales countryside. Besides the main home, a substantial kitchen extension and link extension were formed, seamlessly connecting the residence to a two-storey outbuilding. Formerly underused, this outbuilding has been thoughtfully converted into a private library and home office.

RETROSPECTIVE - St Grwst's Church and Gwydir Chapel /  by Jeremy Wong

The past year or so has been one of the most challenging in recent times, however there’s a glimmer of hope on the horizon as we move slowly back to some form of normalcy!

One of our projects, St Grwst’s Church in Llanrwst, achieved Practical Completion just before the onset of the pandemic and the first lockdown in March 2020. Unfortunately the official opening was cancelled and the church was closed to the public indefinitely.

The project aims were to re-energise the church, conserve its fabric, and connect its stories back to the community. This would re-establish the church as the heart of the town and valley, creating a cultural centre for the area, whilst developing a variety of regular sources of income to ensure long-term sustainability.

To achieve these goals, the church interior was reordered to form a flexible and adaptable space with new facilities such as toilets, a kitchen and Interpretation area where visitors can learn about the history of the church. In terms of conservation work, key features were repaired and restored; in particular many of the artefacts within Gwydir Chapel. Other works include a new limestone floor with underfloor heating, new lighting and sound system.

The restoration and reordering works as a whole, create a welcoming space and atmosphere, that will connect people to the heritage and will be used by the community and visitors alike.

After some delay and adjustments to our new reality, St Grwst’s was eventually opened, albeit with COVID-19 measures in place. Services are now up and running and visitors are welcome!

Why not pop in for the Paned a Sgwrs / Cuppa and Chat tea and coffee morning, or maybe try your hand at brass rubbing and check out the newly refurbished space and facilities!
